The astronomy in southwestern area of Germany called palatia dates back to about the 17th and 18th centuries. At the Landessternwarte Heidelberg there are still found some books out of this time. Among them there is a small stellar atlas published 1782, originally bought by the elector palatines observatory in Mannheim. This is the "Vorstellung der Gestirne auf XXXIV Tafeln" by Johann Elert Bode (Berlin).
In November 2003 this atlas was republished by the Astaria publishing house, based on the copy of the Landessternwarte. The German text was republished as well, some outdated tables were not reproduced, however. In order to make available those tables these pages were put online, providing scans of the complete french version of the complementary text.
Additionally, smaller scans of the engraved plates that were published in the new book are found here.
